I am a retired cadillac dealer, i was active when the allante was produced from 1987 thru 1983 & had several demos. The 1993 was finally upgraded with the current technology to include a northstar v8 engine & all the newest suspension systems making in my opinion a much more superior car. After retirement in 2014 i started looking for a 1993 allante & found this car on the gm auction @ capital cadillac in washington d. I called the sales manager & he said they sold the car new in 1994 & took it back in trade in 2012 with just 59,700 miles on it. He told me it was a summer car only & had just 2800 miles put on it per year. The owner of capital cadillac had a car collection of 30 to 40 cars & took the allante trade home. 2 years later he decided he had too many cars so he brought the car back to the dealership & told the sales manager to sell it. I purchased the car in an auction & went to washington dc myself & drove the car back to ny. We still had one technician that was trained in repairs on allante's so i had him inspect & replace any necessary maintenance items to include new rotors & pads, spark plug wires & plugs, 2 new power window motors in both doors, all fluids in the car to include engine oil, transmission fluid & all axles fluids. We also replaced the power pull down of the convertible top with a total bill of $4,500. Since i have owned the car it has never been driven in the rain & is always stored in a garage in winter. .
